Radebeul wine country and Spitzhaus

The delightfully relaxing experience of a glass of wine among the Radebeul vineyards.

I put on my trekking shoes and begin the 20 minutes climb through the forests and vineyards to the famous ‘Spitzhaus’, the ‘pointed house’ that overlooks the Elbe valley and the vineyards below.

I enjoy a coffee overlooking the magnificent view and think about lunch at the Spitzhaus. I see the Radisson Blu Park Hotel & Conference Centre, Dresden Radebeul laid out before me in the distance, as I wander through the vineyards laid out on the hills surrounding the Spitzhaus.

I descend to the valley below and visit the Karl Friedrich Aust vineyards and stop to sample a glass of wine on their pavement patio.

I look through the wide variety of wines on display and pick out a couple of bottles that will go down very well when I get home, and remind me of the walk among the Radebeul wine country.
